Annual DigSafe Flag Raising Ceremony
Today Joe Johnson Equipment attended the annual flag raising for Dig Safe Canada at City Hall in Barrie, Ontario. JJE is a strong supporter and provider of No Dig technology and alternative solutions, that when used in coordination with locates can reduce the risk of digging in areas where many of these utilities overlap, or reside closely together. In doing this, crews are able to work safely prior to starting a project and reduce risk of personal injury, loss of essential service and avoid potential repair costs.
For over 15 years Dig Safe and the Canadian Common Ground Alliance have worked to increase awareness regarding excavation near underground utilities. Primarily by promoting the use of locates, or ground markings to identify the position of utilities such as gas, electricity and sewer lines. Subsequently, the Ontario Regional Common Ground Alliance and its members have designated April as Dig Safe Month in Ontario. This month is designated to raising awareness of safe digging practices across the province to improve safety and reduce damages to underground infrastructure.
