Sweepers

Elgin sweepers have been cleaning roadways since 1914.  It all began at the turn of the century with inventor John Murphy of Elgin, Illinois.  Mr. Murphy recognized the serious health hazards caused by polluted streets and invented the world's first machine that automatically picked up street debris.  This remarkable piece of equipment eliminated the need for a man with a shovel and helped solve the sanitation problems of the day.

The Brodd Tow Behind Sweepers are available in three different sizes to fit any application.  The Twist is a compact, yet robust Tow Behind Sweeper, suited for many municipal or small contractor applications such as cleaning sidewalks, alleys, walkways and much more.  The Highway Boss is a highly productive non-stop sweeping machine that loads material directly into a dump truck. This unit is ideal for single lane, non-stop sweeping and excels in construction zones, road milling or spring type sweeping conditions.  The City Boss is an economical tow behind sweeper providing the performance of a full size street sweeper without the additional cost of a chassis. This sweeper can be towed by a tractor or truck and provides big time full size mechanical sweeping performance.

The Challenger sweeper is a recent addition to the sweeper market, but with a design that's based on 15 years of mechanical education and sweeping experience.  It has been designed and constructed to brave the challenges posed by Canadian winter conditions.  The Challenger uses traditional, proven designs in combination with the newest technology to create a mechanical sweeper with excellent sweeping performance.
