No Experience Required to Become a Heavy Equipment Technician or a Truck & Coach Technician

Participants of Joe Johnson Equipment (JJE) IMPACT Apprentice Program have the opportunity to be a part of a leading-edge organization and industry, with a long-term career in one of Canada’s most in-demand fields.  Full training, required tools and safety equipment are provided.  We encourage anyone with an interest in becoming a Heavy Equipment Technician to consider this program as a way to jump-start a rewarding career.

Participants Need:

• Some mechanical exposure or aptitude (however no industry experience required)
• High School Diploma, or equivalent
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

JJE is dedicated to supporting the development of trades people in the Heavy Equipment Industry.  Our IMPACT Apprentice Program provides new-comers to the industry the opportunity to receive the training and education that is required to become a fully licensed Heavy Equipment Technician.  Our in-house program is designed to provide one-on-one training and mentorship with leaders in our industry - all while participants complete the required educational components of an apprenticeship.

Upon completion of the IMPACT Apprentice Program, participants will be well on their way to a new career in one of Canada’s fastest growing industries.  Career advancement, placements to JJE’s worldwide locations, full benefits and competitive compensation are just a few aspects of a career that participants can look forward to.

Program Outline:

Level 1:
• Perform shop maintenance
• Provide assistance to mechanics

Level 2:
• Perform basic mechanic duties
• Begin online technical training

Level 3:
• Register as an apprentice
• Begin classroom training

Level 4:
• Continue classroom training
• Complete online technical training

Level 5+:
• Complete classroom training
• Complete final exam

Compensation:

Level 1: $15 - $16/hr
Level 2: $17/hr
Level 3: $18/hr
Level 4: $40 - $60k/year
Level 5: $60k+
